UPDATE: UPCOMING SERVICE RELOCATION WORKS ON THE EASTERN SIDE OF SOUTH ROAD, RIDLEYTON – 30/06/2017 – 07/07/2017

As part of the Torrens Road to River Torrens Project, the T2T Alliance is undertaking a range of works on the eastern side of South Road, between Hawker Street and Forster Street. Crews will be working across various sites within the area to complete the works.

To minimise disturbance to peak hour traffic, intermittent works will be undertaken from Friday 30 June to Friday 7 July 2017 (finishing 6am Friday 7 July 2017), weather permitting. Access to some driveways may be temporarily impacted during these works however, we will contact residents and business operators in advance of any restrictions.

Installation of new sewer main connections

  • South Road, southbound lanes between Monmouth Street and Forster Street
    • Intermittent night works from 7pm Friday 30 June to 6am Sunday 2 July 2017

Installation of stormwater infrastructure

  • South Road, southbound lanes between Hawker Street and Forster Street
    • Intermittent night works between 7pm and 6am from Friday 30 June to Friday 7 July 2017

Installation of common services trench

  • South Road, southbound lanes between Hythe Street and Forster Street
    • Intermittent night works between 7pm and 6am Friday 30 June to Friday 7 July 2017

Reinstatement of kerbing, footpaths and/or driveways

  • South Road, southbound lanes between Paget Street and Monmouth Street
    • Intermittent day works from Friday 30 June to Friday 7 July 2017
  • South Road, southbound lanes between Hawker Street and Paget Street
    • Intermittent night works between 7pm and 6am from Friday 30 June to Monday 3 July 2017

Removal of redundant water main

  • South Road, southbound lanes between Hawker Street and Paget Street
    • Intermittent night works between 7pm and 6am from Friday 30 June to Friday 7 July 2017

Equipment                                                                                                                                           

A vacuum truck, road saw, rock breaker, bobcat, excavator, trucks, mobile cranes, compaction equipment and light vehicles will be used to perform these works. Lighting towers will also be in operation during night works.

Traffic management

  • Pedestrian access will be maintained during these works.
  • Electronic signage will notify motorists of any temporary local road closures during these works.
  • Lane and speed restrictions will apply in the vicinity of the works.
  • Signage will alert motorists to the changed traffic conditions.

Some noise can be expected, however the work will be managed to minimise disturbance to local residents as much as possible.
