Community feedback will continue to be a vital part of this project as the detailed design and construction phase commences. Throughout the duration of the project the T2T Alliance will make every effort to keep people and businesses who may be impacted informed of what is happening through this dedicated website, phone line, email, social media and advance work notices.
The T2T Alliance will continue to provide opportunities for community involvement and feedback on specific project elements during the lifetime of the project.
A Community Liaison Group (CLG), focusing on the construction phase of the project started in December 2014 to provide a forum for local residents and businesses to discuss and exchange information about the project. L-R Emmanuel, Jordy and Ali visiting the T2T Project – 25 August 2017
On Friday 25 August 2017, the T2T Alliance hosted sixteen students from local high schools as part of its partnership with the Beacon Foundation. The purpose of the day was to introduce students to possible career pathways and the opportunities available to them.
Members of the T2T Alliance spoke about the project and their own career paths before taking the students on a site tour. The students’ feedback was very positive.
Ali, from the Adelaide Secondary School of English described the experience as “Amazing, really awesome.” Jordy from the Bowden-Brompton Community School was impressed by the size of the project, “It’s cool to look at and you’ve got to be proud.” For Emmanuel, from Playford International College, it helped firm up his goal of becoming a civil engineer and build roads and bridges. “I’d recommend the program to anyone,” he said.
The Beacon Foundation is a national not for profit organisation that works to link secondary schools with industry to help young people in their transition from school to the world of work. It is dedicated to the belief that every young person has the right to hope, a job, financial opportunity and the sense of personal success this provides them. The T2T Alliance is proud to assist the Beacon Foundation with its work in local communities.
