UPCOMING WORKS ON PORT ROAD BETWEEN 421 PORT ROAD AND SOUTH ROAD, CROYDON- 16 OCTOBER – 23 OCTOBER 2017

As part of the Torrens Road to River Torrens Project, the T2T Alliance will be installing new kerbing, driveways and footpath along the northern side of Port Road (city bound), between Torrens Clinic at 421 Port Road and the SA Power Networks substation, at the South Road intersection with Port Road.

The works will be undertaken between 7pm Monday 16 October and 6am Monday 23 October 2017.  Most activities will be completed as day and weekend works, however, intermittent night works may also be undertaken to complete these works, weather permitting.

Key activities

  • Removal of existing footpath and driveways.
  • Reinstatement of footpath, driveways and kerbing.                                                                                                                  

A road saw, vacuum truck, excavator, trucks and light vehicles will be used to perform these works. Lighting towers will also be in operation during night works.

Traffic management  

  • Port Road will be reduced to two lanes (city bound) in the vicinity of works.
  • Speed restrictions will apply.
  • Signage will alert motorists to the changed traffic conditions.
  • Pedestrian access will remain in place throughout the works.

Directly affected residents and businesses will be notified in advance of any impacts, such as temporary driveway restrictions during these works.

Some noise can be expected, however the work will be managed to minimise disturbance to local residents as much as possible.
