T2T – Torrens to Torrens Project

As part of the Torrens Road to River Torrens Project, the T2T Alliance will be undertaking service relocation works on Gawler Avenue, at the junction with South Road.

These works will take place from 7pm Friday 5 May to 6am Monday 8 May 2017, weather permitting.  

Key activities and timing

 7pm Friday 5 May to 5pm Saturday 6 May 2017

• Relocation of traffic barriers
• Excavation of trench
• Installation of stormwater infrastructure

9am to 5pm Sunday 7 May 2017

• Backfill and reinstatement works

7pm Sunday 7 May to 6am Monday 8 May 2017

• Relocation of traffic barriers

Equipment 

A road saw, vacuum truck, excavator, bobcat, compaction equipment, trucks and light vehicles will be used to perform these works.

Traffic Management 

• The current closure of Gawler Avenue will remain in place while these works are completed.
• Alternative detour routes will be in place via Hindmarsh Avenue.
• Signage will alert motorists to the changed traffic conditions.

Some noise can be expected, however the work will be managed to minimise disturbance to local residents as much as possible.
