T2T – Torrens to Torrens Project

As part of the Torrens Road to River Torrens Project, the T2T Alliance will be undertaking service relocation works on the eastern side of South Road, between Hawker Street and Forster Street.

Crews will be working across various sites within the area to complete the works.

To minimise disturbance to peak hour traffic, intermittent day and night works will be undertaken from Friday 28 April to Friday 5 May 2017 (finishing 6am Friday 5 May 2017), weather permitting.

Locations and timing

South Road, southbound lanes between Hawker Street and Forster Street

• from 7pm Friday 28 April to 6am Tuesday 2 May 2017
• from 7am Wednesday 3 May to 6am Friday 5 May 2017

South Road junction with Forster Street

• from 7pm Friday 28 April to 6am Monday 1 May 2017

Equipment                                                                                                     

A vacuum truck, road saw, rock breaker, bobcat, excavator, trucks, mobile cranes, compaction equipment and light vehicles will be used to perform these works. Lighting towers will also be in operation during night works.

Traffic management

• Access to driveways will be maintained during these works, unless otherwise notified.
• Pedestrian access will be maintained.
• Electronic signage will notify motorists of any temporary local road closures during these works.
• Lane and speed restrictions will apply in the vicinity of the works.
• Signage will alert motorists to the changed traffic conditions.

Some noise can be expected, however the work will be managed to minimise disturbance to local residents as much as possible.
