UPCOMING NIGHT WORKS AND TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE OF QUEEN STREET AT THE PORT ROAD INTERSECTION – 5-6 FEBRUARY 2018

As part of the Torrens Road to River Torrens Project, the T2T Alliance will be continuing to undertake traffic signalling works at the intersection of Queen Street and Port Road, Croydon.

To minimise disturbance to peak hour traffic, and weather permitting, these works will be undertaken between 7pm Monday 5 February 2018 and 6am Tuesday 6 February (finishing 6am Tuesday 6 February).

Key activities                                                                                               

  • Excavation and installation of traffic signals.
  • Backfill and reinstatement of pavement.

A road saw, excavator, crane, trucks, compaction equipment and light vehicles will be used to perform these works. Lighting towers will also be in operation during night works.

Traffic management

  • Queen Street will be closed to traffic from 10pm Monday 5 February for approximately 2 hours during these works:
    • Traffic wanting to enter or exit on to Port Road will be redirected to King Street.
  • Lane and speed restrictions will apply in the vicinity of the works.
  • Signage will alert motorists to the changed traffic conditions.

Works will be managed to minimise disturbance to local residents however some noise can be expected.
