UPCOMING NIGHT WORKS ON PORT ROAD BETWEEN QUEEN STREET AND SOUTH ROAD, CROYDON – 15/5/2017 – 19/5/2017

As part of the Torrens Road to River Torrens Project, the T2T Alliance will be installing new stormwater infrastructure in the city bound lanes of Port Road between Queen Street and South Road.

To minimise disturbance to peak hour traffic, the works will take place each night between 7pm and 6am from Monday 15 May to Friday 19 May 2017 (finishing 6am Friday 19 May 2017).

Key activities                                                                                               

  • Saw cutting of the road pavement.
  • Installation of stormwater pits and pipes.

A road saw, mobile crane, excavator, compaction equipment, concrete trucks and pumps, trucks and light vehicles will be used to perform these works. Lighting towers will also be in operation during night works.

Traffic management

  • Access to driveways will be maintained during these works.
  • Pedestrian access will continue to be provided along Port Road.
  • Lane and speed restrictions will apply in the vicinity of the works.
  • Signage will alert motorists to the changed traffic conditions.

Works will be managed to minimise disturbance to local residents however some noise can be expected.
