UPCOMING NIGHT WORKS ON SOUTH ROAD BETWEEN GAWLER AVENUE, WEST HINDMARSH, AND TORRENS ROAD – 11 – 14 & 16 – 21 APRIL 2018

As part of the Torrens Road to River Torrens Project, the T2T Alliance will be installing inclinometers in multiple locations along South Road between Gawler Avenue and Torrens Road. An inclinometer is an instrument for measuring angles of slope and will monitor the long-term stability of the walls along the lowered motorway.

To minimise disturbance to peak hour traffic, and weather permitting, the works will be intermittently undertaken each night between 7pm and 6am in various locations during the following times:

  • From Wednesday 11 April to Saturday 14 April (finishing 6am Sunday 15 April).
  • From Monday 16 April to Saturday 21 April (finishing 6am Sunday 22 April).

Key activities

  • Saw cutting of the pavement and boring.
  • Installation of inclinometer.
  • Backfill and reinstatement of pavement.

A vacuum truck, road saw, drill rig, concrete mixer, trucks and light vehicles will be used to perform these works. Lighting towers will also be in operation during night works.

Traffic management

  • Lane and speed restrictions will apply in the vicinity of the works.
  • Signage will alert motorists to the changed traffic conditions.

Works will be managed to minimise disturbance to local residents however some noise can be expected.
