UPCOMING NIGHT AND WEEKEND WORKS IN THE PORT ROAD MEDIAN AT QUEEN STREET, CROYDON – 3-14 NOVEMBER 2017

As part of the T2T Project, the T2T Alliance will be undertaking works in the Port Road median at the intersection of Port Road and Queen Street, to install final kerbing, remove asphalt and complete civil works.

These works will be undertaken during day works:

  • from 7am to 7pm Friday 3 November and Saturday 4 November 2017
  • from 7am to 7pm Monday 6 November 2017 to Saturday 11 November 2017, weather permitting.

Key activities

  • Removal of redundant asphalt
  • Installation of new kerbing and footpaths
  • Reinstatement of pavement
  • Finishing minor civil works

Some noise and vibration can be expected during these works, however, the work will be managed to minimise disturbance to local residents and businesses as much as possible.

A profiler, compaction equipment, road saw, bobcats, mobile crane, asphalting equipment, line-marking equipment, trucks and light vehicles will be used to perform these works.

Temporary traffic arrangements

From 7pm Friday 3 November to 6am Tuesday 14 November 2017:

  • Right turn movements in and out of Queen Street at Port Road will be temporarily closed. Access to the Queen Street/Elizabeth Street trading precinct will be maintained at all times from Port Road, via King Street and Rosetta Street.
  • Left turn movements in and out of Queen Street at Port Road will be maintained.
  • The u-turn on Port Road at Queen Street will be maintained.

Access to properties

  • It is BUSINESS AS USUAL for businesses on Port Road, Queen Street and adjacent side streets.
  • Signage will alert motorists to the changed traffic conditions and local detour routes.

Cyclists and Pedestrians

  • Cyclist and pedestrian access will be maintained on both sides of Port Road.
