UPCOMING NIGHT AND WEEKEND WORKS ON PORT ROAD, CROYDON – 26/7/2017 – 27/7/2017

As part of the Torrens Road to River Torrens Project, the T2T Alliance will be continuing to install stormwater infrastructure on the northern side of Port Road between Queen Street and South Road.

To minimise disturbance to peak hour traffic, intermittent night works will be undertaken between 7pm and 6am on Wednesday 26 July and Thursday 27 July 2017 (finishing 6am Friday 28 July 2017), weather permitting.

Key activities

  • Excavation of trench
  • Installation of piping
  • Backfill and reinstatement of pavement

Equipment

A vacuum truck, bobcat, excavator, trucks, compaction equipment, and light vehicles will be used to perform these works. Lighting towers will be in operation during night works.

Traffic management

  • Pedestrian access will be maintained.
  • Lane and speed restrictions will apply in the vicinity of the works.
  • Signage will alert motorists to the changed traffic conditions.

We will contact residents and business operators in advance of any works that will have a direct impact, such as temporary driveway restrictions.

Some noise can be expected, however the work will be managed to minimise disturbance to local residents as much as possible.
