TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF FOOTPATH ON THE EASTERN SIDE OF SOUTH ROAD – 01/12/2016 TO MID JANUARY 2017

As part of the Torrens Road to River Torrens Project, the T2T Alliance is undertaking service relocation and preparatory works on South Road between Port Road and Forster Street prior to construction of the Outer Harbor rail overpass in January 2017.

To facilitate these works:

  • The footpath on the eastern side of South Road will be temporarily closed between Ridley Street and Forster Street from 7pm Thursday 1 December to mid-January 2017.
  • No pedestrian access will be possible on this section of South Road at any time during this period.

AND

  •  The footpath on the eastern side of South Road will be temporarily closed between Port Road and Ridley Street from 7pm Friday 2 December to 6am Monday 5 December 2016 and from 7pm to 6am each night from Monday 5 December to Friday 9 December 2016 (opening at 6am Friday 9 December 2016).
  • No pedestrian access will be available during the weekend and on week nights during this period. This section of footpath will be temporarily reinstated to enable daytime access on week days.

Alternative pedestrian detour routes and signage will be in place to direct pedestrians and cyclists to the available footpaths and pedestrian crossings.

Please see below view the alternative pedestrian detours that will be in place during these times.

Pedestrians should always cross at signalised pedestrian crossings where available and use the pedestrian mazes on Coglin and Queen Streets when crossing the Outer Harbor and Grange rail line.

Please call the project enquiry line on: 1300 794 899 or email: enquiries@t2talliance.com.au if you have special access requirements during these temporary road closures.
