NIGHT AND DAY WORKS IN THE RAIL CORRIDOR BETWEEN QUEEN STREET/CROYDON STATION AND COGLIN STREET, BROMPTON – 2-15 JANUARY 2018

As part of the Torrens Road to River Torrens Project, day and night works will be undertaken in the rail corridor, between Queen Street, Croydon (and at Croydon Station) and Coglin Street, Brompton, from 6am Tuesday 2 January to 6am Monday 15 January 2018.

Key activities

Coglin Street and West Street

  • Asphalting, installation of fencing and kerbing works

Queen Street/Croydon Station

  • Platform works, asphalting and installation of pedestrian mazes

Equipment

An excavator, bobcat, rollers, concrete pump, vacuum truck, asphalting equipment, hand tools, trucks and light vehicles will be used to perform these works. Lighting towers will also be in operation during night works.

Some noise, vibration and dust from these works can be expected at times. Dust, noise and vibration monitoring equipment has been placed in the rail corridor and will continue to be monitored to ensure that works do not exceed compliance levels.

Traffic arrangements

 From 6am Tuesday 2 January to 6am Thursday 11 January 2018:

 Queen Street level crossing

  • The Queen Street level crossing will operate under temporary traffic signals that will allow traffic in both directions to cross the level crossing using a single lane. Pedestrian and cyclist access will be maintained.

Day Terrace (eastern side of Elizabeth Street)

  • Left turn movements in to Day Terrace from Elizabeth Street will be available.
  • Right turn movements in to Day Terrace from Elizabeth Street will not be permitted.
  • Access from Day Terrace on to Elizabeth Street will not be permitted.
  • Left turn movements in and out of Elizabeth Street at South Road will continue to be available.

 

Coglin Street

  • The Coglin Street level crossing will operate under temporary traffic signals that will allow traffic in both directions to cross the level crossing using a single lane. Pedestrian and cyclist access will be maintained.

Please note: From 5pm Thursday 21 December 2017 to 6am Tuesday 2 January 2018, Queen Street and Coglin Street will be open to two-way traffic and pedestrians. There will no planned construction works during this time.

West Street

From 5pm Thursday 21 December 2017 to 6am Monday 8 January 2018, the West Street pedestrian crossing will be open to pedestrians.

From 6am Monday 8 January to 6am Monday 15 January, the West Street pedestrian crossing will be temporarily closed to pedestrians, to complete asphalting and kerbing works at this location.

The Outer Harbor and Grange rail lines will remain temporarily closed until 15 January 2018. During this time, substitute buses will be provided.
