As part of the Torrens to Torrens Project (T2T), the lowered motorway will be initially opened to traffic on Saturday 29 September.
The southbound carriageway of the lowered motorway will firstly open between 10am and midday on Saturday 29 September, with the northbound carriageway being opened between midday and 2pm as part of the staged opening.
Two further weekends of work will be required to lay the final layer of asphalt ( wearing course) on the surface roads in both northbound and southbound directions as follows:
First weekend closure for asphalt works
Second weekend closure for asphalt works
Traffic signage will alert road users to the detours that be in place during these weekend works.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Road users will be able to use the lowered motorway in both directions on the weekdays in between the weekend road works and detours.
Note that a 60km/h speed limit will apply, until the completion of these final road works and the lowered motorway will be fully open from 6am Monday 15 October 2018 (weather permitting).
Other completion works, not in the lowered motorway, will be carried out over the following months including minor roadworks and landscaping.
The staged opening of the lowered motorway will allow full use of the lowered motorway during weekdays only. Completion of the final surface road asphalting works over two weekends is the most efficient and safe process for completing the remaining road works and will limit impacts on businesses.
