LOCAL ACCESS ARRANGEMENTS TO CROYDON AND WEST CROYDON – UPDATE

As part of the Torrens Road to River Torrens Project, a range of works continue to complete the northbound carriageway between the Outer Harbor rail line and Torrens Road by the end of July 2016.

Current access arrangements for local side streets at the South Road end, in Croydon and West Croydon are summarised below. Dates may be subject to change, depending on weather and site conditions.

  • Princes Street– Permanently closed, as per the final design. Pedestrian and cyclist access remains available.
  • Euston Terrace – Closed until further notice. Pedestrian and cyclist access will be available from the end of June, 2016.
  • Day Terrace – Closed until February 2017 (approximately).
  • Robert Street – Closed until February 2017 (approximately).
  • Henry Street – Closed until the end of July 2016. At the end of July 2016, it will re-open as ‘left in/left out’ only, as per the final design.
  • William Street – Closed until 7pm Sunday 19 June 2016, when the road will temporarily re-open until the end of July 2016. At the end of July 2016, it will be permanently closed as per the final design.
  • Cedar Avenue – Open until 7pm Sunday 19 June 2016, when the road will temporarily close until the end of July 2016. At the end of July 2016, it will permanently re-open as ‘left in/left out’ only, as per the final design.
  • Harriet Street – At the end of July 2016, it will open at South Road as ‘left in/left out’ only, as per the final design.
  • Hurtle Street – Permanently closed, as per the final design. Pedestrian and cyclist access remains available.
  • Bedford Street – Open until 7pm Sunday 19 June 2016, when the road will temporarily close until the end of July 2016. At the end of July 2016, it will permanently re-open as ‘left in/left out’ only, as per the final design.
  • Dartmouth Street – Closed until 7pm Sunday 19 June 2016, when the road will temporarily re-open to ‘left in/left out’ movements. At the end of July 2016, the ‘left in’ movement will be removed and it will permanently re-open as ‘left out’ only, as per the final design.
  • Scotia Street – Permanently closed, as per the final design.

Closer to the traffic switch onto the completed northbound carriageway, additional information will be provided to residents and businesses, in July 2016.
