CONTINUATION OF NIGHT WORKS FOR INSTALLATION OF RETAINING WALLS FOR RAIL OVERPASS- 31/10/2016 – 3/11/2016

As part of the Torrens Road to River Torrens Project, the T2T Alliance will continue to install retaining walls for the Outer Harbor rail overpass, along the rail corridor between South Road and the Queen Street / Elizabeth Street rail crossing.

To minimise disturbance to train services, the works will take place each night between 7pm and 6am from Monday 31 October to Thursday 3 November 2016 (finishing 6am Thursday 3 November 2016), weather permitting.

Key Activities and Equipment

  • Installation of retaining walls within the rail corridor along Day Terrace and Euston Terrace, between South Road and the Queen Street / Elizabeth Street rail crossing.

A 350 tonne road crane, mobile crane, trucks and light vehicles will be used to perform these works. Lighting towers will also be in operation during night works.

Construction equipment will be set up in the existing work areas on the corner South Road and Day Terrace, and the corner of South Road and Euston Terrace. Trucks delivering materials to the site will enter and exit from South Road.

Some noise disturbance can be expected at times while these works are completed, however the work will be managed to minimise disturbance to local residents as much as possible.
