Traffic arrangements within the project area are constantly changing as major construction works progress and move forward. The plans below outline the major traffic management arrangements that are expected to be in place and are subject to change.

Weekend works:

As part of ongoing T2T Project works, lane and speed restrictions will be in place this weekend along South Road, Torrens Road and Port Road, weather permitting.  

 South Road:

  • from 10.30pm Friday 22 September to 6am Monday 25 September 2017:
    • one lane maintained for southbound traffic between Bishop Street and Torrens Road
    • one lane maintained for northbound traffic between Dartmouth Street and Torrens Road
    • one lane maintained for northbound traffic between Harriet Street and Bedford Street
    • one lane maintained for northbound traffic on South Road between Port Road and Robert Street
    • one lane maintained for southbound traffic on South Road between Port Road and Manton Street
  • from 7pm Sunday 24 September to 6am Monday 25 September 2017:
    • one lane maintained for traffic in both directions between Susan Street and Adam Street

South Road / Port Road intersection from 10.30pm Friday 22 September to 6am Monday 25 September 2017:

  • one lane maintained for southbound traffic on South Road between Port Road and Manton Street
  • one lane maintained for traffic in both directions on Port Road between Rose Street and Anne Street

Torrens Road intersection with South Road from 10.30pm Friday 22 September to 6am Monday 25 September 2017:

  • no through traffic will be permitted in both directions on Torrens Road at the South Road intersection
  • eastbound (towards the city) motorists on Torrens Road will be required to turn left onto South Road to use the u-turn facility at Tait Street to head back south, and then turn left onto Torrens Road
  • westbound (towards the beach) motorists will be required to turn left onto South  Road to use the u-turn facility at Dartmouth Street to head back north, and then turn left onto Torrens Road
  • one lane maintained for northbound traffic on South Road between Dartmouth Street and Torrens Road
  • one lane maintained for southbound traffic on South Road between Bishop Street and Torrens Road
  • one lane maintained for westbound traffic on Torrens Road between Wright Street and South Road
  • one lane maintained for eastbound traffic on Torrens Road between Days Road and South Road

Upgrade to arterial roads provide alternative routes during major road works on the Torrens Road to River Torrens Project

The Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure has recently upgraded a number of arterial roads west of the City to ease congestion during the Torrens Road  to River Torrens Project.
